Stepping Out is back with visits to key AMP equipments/buildings
After a cycle dedicated to innovation with Civil Engineering, the Porto Innovation Hub launches a new edition of Stepping Out visits. The program is open to the public free of charge and includes a series of excursions to buildings and equipment in the city of Porto.
The “Stepping Out” visits, which reveal the scientific and technological knowledge that underpins many of the emblematic works and fundamental infrastructures for the development of the city of Porto, are back.
Already confirmed are the visits to four equipment managed by the municipal company Águas do Porto: Arca d’Água and Torreão da Mina do Monte da Viúva do Cunha, on March 14; Pavilions of Parque das Águas, April 11; Parque das Águas, on May 9; and Golden Ejector, on June 13th. These sessions are scheduled for 11 am, with a meeting place to be defined, and will be curated by architect Mário Mesquita, professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto.
On April 24, at 5 pm, we invite you to learn about the work carried out in the rehabilitation of Bairro do Lordelo, with professor Vasco Peixoto de Freitas.
These visits will be preceded by a short conference on places to visit, where participants will have the opportunity to get to know in depth the works under study and their challenges.
Integrated within the scope of the Porto Innovation Hub since 2016, the “Stepping Out” visits result from collaboration with the Municipality of Porto, the Department of Civil Engineering at FEUP, in partnership with the Rectory of the University of Porto, the Order of Engineers – Region Norte and Águas do Porto.
As in previous editions, all citizens and visitors of the city are challenged to discover the details of construction on emblematic places of transformation in Porto. The activities will be published regularly on the Porto Innovation Hub’s communication channels. All activities included in the program are open to the public, free of charge, subject to prior registration.
