Porto Innovation Hub promotes day dedicated to innovation
This friday, Porto Innovation Hub (PIH) promoted a day dedicated to innovation in the Municipality. The initiative sought to involve workers in the (re)design of more efficient and affordable public services.
In the morning, the day of innovation focused on the “Porto City Council bet on innovation as a governance strategy”. The start of the initiative was attended by the vice-president of Porto, Filipe Araújo, responsible for Innovation and Environment. In a speech, the mayor stressed that “innovation goes far beyond the implementation of new technologies and media”.
The day was also marked by the debate about the role of design in creating value for public sector services, the studies developed by LabX – Experimentation Laboratory of Public Administration, demonstrating the qualitative gains for innovation when multidisciplinary intervention takes place in the projects. During the afternoon a service experience redesign workshop was held through the service design methodology by the PIH and LabX team.
Alongside the activities integrated on Innovation Day, PIH also received, in parallel, Service Jam Porto. For this initiative were invited all employees of the ecosystem of the Municipality of Porto.
It is recalled that PIH recently opened its new facility at Largo do Dr. Tito Fontes.
